MISSION

The Booster Club is an organization within Rosehill Christian School, that raises much-needed funds to support the Athletic Department in a variety of ways. Booster Club members, officers, RCS staff, and parents all serve together to raise funds. The funds raised by the booster club are used to purchase items the Athletic Director and coaches desire to ensure their teams have the necessary equipment to compete in TAPPs. The Booster Club plans, organizes, and funds activities at our sporting events. (ie Alumni, ice cream social, and Homecoming bonfire) The Booster Club will foster better relationships between the parents which in turn helps to increase school spirit!

BOOSTER CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Over the past few years, there has been a steady decline in membership(s) and the current board members believe a new course of action is needed to increase the effectiveness and the participation rates within the Booster Club.

  • The term membership implies action and could possibly be a deterrent for some parents to join the Booster Club.

  • Rather than make joining the Booster Club optional, the school should adopt a policy of families whose children play sports should be required to either:

    • Pay a nominal amount to help the Booster Club

    • Volunteer for at least 2 events to work in the concession stand or at the entrance to the event (parents should be encouraged to volunteer at all sporting events, not just the ones their students participate within)

    • Parents with children of all ages within RCS should be encouraged to participate and volunteer their time.

  • Going forward we recommend each sport (Cheer included) should be responsible for ensuring at least one (1) parent represents their sport at monthly Booster Club meetings. This will help to foster communication and school spirit within RCS, both of which are lacking at this point in time. The head coach for each sport will be responsible for nominating their representative by the end of the first month of each school year.

Ideas for Future Booster Club - Increase Participation and Communication within the School

  1. Each sport has at least one parent attend monthly board meetings. This would serve two purposes:

    1. They bring their ideas/needs to the board

    2. They can communicate more effectively back to the parents what was discussed at the board meeting
