THE RCS DIFFERENCE

Why RCS?

Deciding where your child is going to spend 15,000 of the most formative hours of their young life is one of the most important decisions a parent will make.  The school experience influences and shapes child development, successes, and failures, making selecting a like-minded school a top priority for families.

Rosehill Christian School (RCS) has over 30 years of partnering with families in raising successful students and supporting families in the nurture and instruction of the Lord.

Our Care and Concern

At Rosehill Christian School, we believe that every child deserves to be valued, welcomed, and known. Through small class sizes and individual attention, students experience the love of Jesus Christ from teachers called by God to passionately teach and live out the Biblical principles which guide our faith.

Our school family is represented in over 100 different Christian churches in our community, all with one goal: to love and support our students to grow into their God-given potential.

The Development of Character

We seek to inspire, educate, and transform. Through opportunity, relationship, and support, we inspire our students to reach for their dreams, from space to engineering to medicine and to the arts.

We partner with families to educate their children so they will be successful in college and beyond, wherever the Lord takes them. We teach God’s Word, proclaim the Gospel, and seek to live by the fruits of the Spirit in order to help your children transform into all God wants them to be.

Our Faculty

We employ the highest-quality teachers with strong faith walks and deep expertise in their disciplines to generate excitement for their subjects while living and teaching the Bible.

Our faculty averages over 15 years of experience and includes several master teachers with more than 25 years of excellence in the classroom.

Our Academics

We teach a college preparatory curriculum and offer over 45 dual credit and 8 AP classes for our students. Accelerated tracks for Math and Language Arts begin in Kindergarten and we have a new STEM lab for science creativity and fun.

Our goal is to provide differentiated instruction and personal connections to meet individual student needs. This approach pays off in our students’ PSAT and SAT scores which are 15-20% above the national average.

Our students have been proudly accepted at the top schools in the nation including Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, Rice, and, of course, the University of Texas and Texas A&M!

Our Educational Philosophy

Our educational philosophy centers around offering a complete experience for the development of the whole child by implementing curriculum and instruction interwoven with a Biblical worldview. Our instruction is designed to grow children spiritually, intellectually, and physically,  through the lens of Scripture, with rich, interactive classroom experiences and dynamic experiential learning at local venues. This way, RCS students learn and experience the truth of God and His Word in every facet of their educational journey.

A Safe Environment

We seek to help our children grow up in an environment that is safe and loving. Our society is increasingly anxious and marked by ridicule and derision as opposed to leadership and vision. It sometimes feels like our society is driving our children in the wrong direction.

The RCS culture helps children understand and consider our world and society and its pressures, views, and values so they can critically examine them so they may respond in an intelligent, dignified, and Biblical manner.

Our Leadership

The leadership at RCS has over 100 years of experience in education, with advanced degrees in education, instructional design and technology, psychology, and economics. We are committed to partner with staff, parents, and the community to enable all of our students to achieve academic success.

We are dedicated to raising up the Christian leaders of the future by providing an environment where students fully develop their God-given talents and know the love of Jesus Christ. As servant leaders, we work to create an environment where spiritual discipleship and acts of service are part of our school culture so we can explore real-world problems from a Christ-like perspective.

Our History

Graciously, the guiding Hand of our Lord has been on our school since its inception.  Sprouting its roots as part of the Boys’ and Girls’ Country in Hockley, Texas, Rosehill Christian School (RCS) first grew from a vision given to Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Robinson to found a Christian school on the Boys’ and Girls’ Country campus to minister to the students living there.  Additionally, they invited students from the surrounding community to enroll. In 1990, when Boys’ and Girls’ Country decided to send their students to public school, a group of parents who still believed strongly in putting Christ first in their children’s lives formed a Board to continue this quest of a Christ-centered education.  Thus, Rosehill Christian School was born and was allowed to rent buildings on the Boys’ and Girls’ Country campus for two years. Then the Lord led one board member to step out by faith and place money down on fifteen acres of land, located six miles west of Tomball, Texas, on FM 2920.

God enabled the parents, students, teachers, and board members to transform this simple cow pasture into a single-building campus that originally housed grades PK3 through fifth grade. Each year thereafter, an additional grade was added -- along with additional structures -- until the first senior class graduated in May 2000 with four members.

By 1994, Rosehill Christian School became a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) and then joined TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) during the 1995-1996 school year.

Throughout the 1990’s, numerous athletic and fine arts programs were added to Rosehill’s challenging academic curriculum.  Buildings were added in 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996 to accommodate the steady growth that the Lord bestowed. The first gymnasium was completed in 2001.  Rosehill athletes began to compete at top levels, winning state titles, first in tennis and golf, then adding track, girls’ basketball, and baseball championships.  It was not long until Rosehill began to earn state titles in One Act Play, speech, drama, and art.

In 2005, two patrons made generous donations to pay off completely all debt that Rosehill Christian School incurred during the preceding fourteen years of construction and growth. This gift also allowed the school to establish the Rosehill Charitable Foundation, whose established purpose is to support and enhance Rosehill Christian School.
