Head of School, Don Barnhart
Don has a Master's degree in Instructional Systems Design and a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. He spent 5 years of teaching 5th grade in Maryland and 25 years teaching adults as an Organization Development and Change Management business consultant. He also spent 9 years on the Board of Rosehill Christian School and is the parent of three RCS graduates.
Lauren Dyal: Business and Preschool Director
Lauren has Master’s in Economics and has completed her PhD coursework in Finance. She spent 10 years as our Upper School Administrator and prior to Rosehill spent a stint running a preschool.
Amber Hurst: Upper School Principal.
Amber joined RCS in 2019. Prior to RCS, Amber was Assistant Principal at Salyard's Middle School. She has 12 years of teaching and administrative experience in the Cy-Fair schools, including teacher, counselor, academic achievement specialist, and assistant principal. Amber and her family are active members of Bayou City Fellowship.
Katie Davila: Middle School Principal.
Katie has a Master's degree in English and an undergraduate degree from Houston Baptist University. She has 13 years of teaching and administrative experience. She most recently served as Academic Advisor at RCS. Katie and her family are active members of Pine Island Baptist Church.
Christie Newell: Elementary School Principal
Christie has taught all elementary grades in her over 20 years of teaching, and 15 of those years have been here at Rosehill Christian School! She has run our 4-H program and served as Team Lead for several years. Christie has her Bachelor’s degree in K-8 Teaching from Cal State and is now pursuing her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Christie is the proud parent of an RCS graduate and two RCS students, and her family faithfully attends Pine Island Baptist Church.
Academics Affairs Consultant, Marshall Priest
A Houston native, Mr. Priest made the move to Rosehill Christian School in 2006 and has served as the Lower School Principal, Upper School Principal, and Dean of Academic Affairs. After having spent thirty years in public school education, with twenty-three of those years in Spring ISD, he has ministered for the past 12 years at Rosehill Christian School. During his public school career, he served as a teacher, principal, and curriculum director. A graduate of the University of Houston, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Education, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During his time at the University of Houston, he also earned his Master of Education and has done post-graduate work there and at Sam Houston University.
