Eagles Basketball Starts District Play STRONG

Tuesday night the High School basketball teams traveled to Providence Classical School to kick off District games.  All three teams came out on top.  The JV boys played hard the entire game and defeated Providence 44 to 39.  The Varsity girls crushed the competition 61-4, Lacey Dyal had the high score with 14 points.  Madison "Squeak" Wehring and Evan Thomas also put up 10 points each.  The Varsity Boys ended the night with a victory as well, 60-45.

They started out slow trailing by three at halftime, but, lead by Jacob Anderson's 37 points and great team defense in the second half, the Eagles rallied and outscored Providence by 20 in the final two quarters. The Eagles' next challenge will be travelling to Bryan Friday night to take on the Brazos Christian Eagles. Go Eagles!

NEW:  RCS Spring Musical

Mrs. Teri Clark and Mrs. Juliet Geil will be holding auditions for a musical, Schoolhouse Rock, Jr., on Friday, January 18. Seventh grade through twelfth grade students may audition during 7th period, 8th period, or after school. They are auditioning for 6 lead roles, 1 of which is not a heavy singing role. They will also need some additional cast members for the large song/dance numbers. Rehearsals will be on Thursdays after school from 3:30 - 5:30, plus Fridays during 7th or 8th period, depending on grade level. There will be two Saturday rehearsals. A full rehearsal schedule, audition requirements, and script portion will be emailed to all who indicate an interest in auditioning.   If you're interested in checking out the songs, there are several Schoolhouse Rock videos on YouTube.  Also,  Mrs. Clark is looking for about 6 students who would like to work with power tools and paint! These students will meet to design, build and paint the bright, creative set for Schoolhouse Rock. You need to be attentive to detail, and dependable, but she is willing to teach any skills you don't already  have and work with your schedule.  Performance will be held on April 16, 2019.

The pop-culture phenomenon Schoolhouse Rock comes to life on stage in this musical adaptation of a favorite Saturday morning cartoon. The show follows a school teacher nervous about his first day, and includes all the best songs from the original, including "Conjunction Junction," "I’m Just a Bill," "Unpack your Adjectives," and more.  Have fun using your talents to entertain RCS families and children.
