All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
2 Corinthians 4:15

SISTER, SISTEROn November 6 and 7, high school drama students (cast and crew) traveled to Kerrville for the TAPPS Division III State One-Act Play contest held at the beautiful Callioux Theater. The state-level competition was extremely stiff, but the RCS team performed a stunning and flawless performance of "Sister, Sister".  As a team, RCS placed fifth in the state.  Additionally, the following students received individual all-state awards: Paige Powers: All Star Cast & Allison Strange:  All Star Cast Honorable Mention.
We give all glory to God and were humbled and blessed to be able to represent Him and RCS for the fifth year in a row at the State Contest.  It was an amazing time of teamwork, bonding, and unity and we are truly blessed.
Drama Director Teri Clark says: "This is always such an amazing experience for these kids.  We have some fun and very meaningful group times and devotionals, as well as team building, and play rehearsals.  Even the load-in and tech rehearsal ran like a well-oiled machine.  It has been so gratifying to see all of my students grow, learn and hone their skills and talents. Some of them I have worked with for four years; others were on cast or crew for the first time.  They are all excellent young men and women both on and off the stage.  They are avid learners, good listeners, supportive of each other, and respectful of authority.  Each individual student is a true blessing to me, and represented the school and our Lord with talent and integrity".
We have learned so much as a cast and crew working on this play.  We have looked at issues surrounding children and adults with intellectual disabilities, and their families.  We see the compassion, frustrations, hardships, compromise, fun times, and self-doubt. But most of all, we see that love and grace can draw the family together.
The team will be performing "Sister, Sister" at RCS on Monday, November 13 at 6:30 PM on the Building H Stage. The entire RCS family is invited to attend this free performance. We look forward to performing this play for you and welcome you to come hear our story.  We will also be honoring our seniors at that time.  We hope to see you there!

GOLF TOURNAMENT SUCCESS!Participants seemed to really enjoy their day at the RCS Annual Golf Tournament this week. We had 26 teams of golfers show up to spend the day golfing for a good cause. Please remember this is one of the two fundraisers we have each year to help keep our tuition rates down and balance our budget.
There is still time to contribute. We will be accepting donations for the golf tournament until November 17th. These tax deductible cash gifts can be from friends, family and/or businesses. Remember that 5% of our proceeeds will be donated to Hurricane Harvey relief. All gifts are very much appreciated...no gift is too small! Contact Andrea Sharayha with any questions.

PTO CORNEROtis Spunkmeyer cookies will be handed out on Tuesday, November 14th to students who turned in order forms. If you ordered cookies, be sure to pick up your orders that afternoon. All orders must be picked up that day, as the school does not have freezer space to hold your orders.
Thanksgiving Parties will take place in Kindergarten-5th grade on the morning of Friday, November 17th. Emails from the homeroom parents will be sent out detailing what help is needed for your child's party. Students will have early dismissal at 11:30.
The annual Christmas Luncheon will take place on Friday, December 1st and many volunteers are needed to make it a success. You can sign up to purchase gift cards, help set up or serve our staff, or bring food. Homeroom parents will be contacting parents about the need for volunteers to substitute for the teachers and staff while they enjoy their time at the luncheon. Please contact Rochelle Lauve at rochellelauve@yahoo.com if you have any questions.
