“Pray without ceasing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17

PARENT ALERT SYSTEMAll Rosehill parents should have received a text and email from our RCS Parent Alert System on Tuesday, August 22nd. Please notify Aimee Froelich at afroelich@rcseagles.org if you did not receive the text and email. We use the Parent Alert System throughout the year and it is an especially useful tool during emergency situations, school closings, etc.

If you are interested in becoming a substitute at RCS, please join us for our substitute training on September 6th at 9:30 AM in D2. This training is open for substitute opportunities in all areas at Rosehill. If you have any additional questions regarding subbing, please contact Stephany Burleson at sburleson@rcseagles.org

We are happily overwhelmed at the time our parent volunteers spend on campus with our students. We are truly an extension of your Christian home when teaching and mentoring your children; so your involvement is greatly appreciated. There are a few safety requirements for our volunteers as well as visitors to our campus who interact with our students. These measures are in place in an effort to create the safest environment possible for our children.

Please remember if you plan to spend any time on campus or on a field trip with our students, we need you to complete the Ministry Safe Training. This is a requirement for all adults over the age of 18 who interact with our students on campus or school functions. The training is good for three years, so if you did this last year, you are ready for the new year. If you have not completed the training, please email Casey Herring at cherring@rcseagles.org for more details on this on-line training program you can complete at your convenience. Please know you must complete a background check to be on campus or to go on trips with our students. Their safety is our most important priority. Simply complete the Background Check Form and send it in to Donna Cox at dcox@rcseagles.org.
In addition to Ministry Safe Training and Background Checks, those parents who want to chaperone field trips need to submit a copy of your drivers license and insurance to keep on file with Donna Cox in the business office. Please email the documents to dcox@rcseagles.org.

TERRA NOVA:NO RESULTSLast Spring, Mr. Priest wrote to you about the problems that our testing company was having with scoring the Terra Nova 3 standardized achievement test.  This test is normally given each Spring, with the results available in the Summer.  At the time of his last email, we reported to you that the results would be ready in late July, based upon communication with the test publisher.
Well, it is now mid-August and we still have not received the results.  Mr. Priest talked to the department at ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) who provides the testing and was told that the issue is as follows:
"The testing company that created the test was purchased by another company.  That company has been trying to convert the scoring of this test to their scoring software, and has experienced many problems."
While our desire is to be able to share with you the results of your child’s testing, we are unable to do so at this time.  We are still awaiting (as are schools across the country), the scoring and summaries on the performance of all of our students.  When will they be available?  We dare not give you a timeline since this has been an ongoing problem and their target dates have not been met.
Know that we, too, await the scores.  We utilize the results each year to analyze our curriculum implementation, overall student performance and to develop our annual School Improvement Plan that addresses what we might do to improve student performance.
Mr. Priest will continue to monitor the issue and will report to you when we have further information. We apologize for this inconvenience.
