Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:7-8
For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it. Titus 1:7-14
Congratulations to our Class of 2018 Valedictorian, Joey Grimm. Joey currently maintains a 4.55 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. Almost every boy who puts on a pair of shoulder pads and a helmet dreams of signing day! Senior Cliff Manning got to experience his dream in front of his family and his entire High School last week. Manning, a 6 foot 205 pound linebacker signed with the Merchant Marine Academy to continue his football career in college.
Manning was the District Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 and a TAPPS Division III All-State selection. He has been an influential member of the football team and the class of 2018. Cliff has a wonderful outlook on life and is of Godly character amongst his peers. We definitely want to wish Cliff all the best when he begins this new and exciting chapter of his life!

Once every five years, Rosehill Christian School undergoes a rigorously comprehensive evaluation of practices, curriculum, resources, and leadership in order to ascertain and improve our effectiveness. In addition, it allows us to maintain our status as an accredited school by AdvancEd and ICAA. Our teachers and administrators spent months preparing for the visit of our on-site team which occurred Feb. 11 - 13.
We received three times the normal number of “Powerful Practices,” and the lead evaluator (who inspects schools all across the nation) commented that Rosehill “is one of the top three schools that I have ever visited.” Our school has also been accredited for the next five years through the ICAA and AdvancEd. Read more on the results of this evaluation in detail HERE.
A new after school program called ACT! is starting on Tuesday, February 27. Intermediate boys & girls will be introduced to basic acting techniques and will participate in a play, to be performed on the evening of Tuesday, May 22. ACT! will meet Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45 on the stage in the new gym. Cost is $50. Wade Sharayha will direct and Grace Freeman will assist.
Along with teaching acting basics, we are also looking forward to working with the students on “character” development; their character within the play and the character of their Christian hearts. We will talk about how to apply Scripture in our daily lives, remembering Paul's words to the Colossians, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as if serving the Lord and not men.” Colossians 3:23
Registration will continue through Friday, February 16. To sign-up, please email Grace Freeman.
WHAT IS THE GALA?
The RCS annual Gala is an event to support our wonderful school that provides children with a quality, Christian education. The Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year contributing towards our Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is our planned operating gap that allows us to keep our tuition rates as low as possible.
HOW DOES OUR FAMILY GET INVOLVED?
Contributions from ALL of our Rosehill families from preschool through high school seniors are needed for the Live Auction packages to be successful. Please contact Amy Hargrove with any questions regarding the live auction packages.
ARE STUDENTS REWARDED?
Free dress day is offered to each student making a donation to the Silent Auction. If our goal is met or we have 85% participation, all students will be given an additional free dress day.

The Rosehill Christian Varsity Boys' Basketball team made tremendous progress in their 2017-18 campaign! Going from only 2 wins in the previous season to an overall record of 9-16, the program is definitely on an up-swing. Despite being one of the youngest and most undersized teams in their division, the Rosehill Eagles finished 4th in district and missed making the playoffs by one game! The Eagles will return 4 of their 5 starters next year and the majority of the reserves as well. The two seniors on the team, Brandon DeSoto and Braydon Lambert, showed great leadership and will be dearly missed by everyone in the program.
The Eagles were led by sophomore point guard Jacob Anderson who showed tremendous growth from last year leading the team in scoring and doing heavy lifting when it came to handling the ball. Juniors Colin Fussell and McCray Kelton also helped in bolstering the Eagle's offense with Kelton being a force to be reckoned with on the defensive side of the ball. The freshman on the varsity squad also helped the Eagles make great strides with Justin Whitmire seeing heavy minutes all season long in the middle and Pierce Shipp showing his outside shooting capabilities in the second half of the season.
Overall, Coach Marlar was very pleased with the effort the boy's showed all season long and their desire to improve. The Eagles will continue to show improvement, doing their best to live by their motto: TODAY....TOGETHER!!!
New changes for the 2018 Football Season! The Eagle Pride Pom Squad is a twist on the original dance team. We have new uniforms so say goodbye to the hats and boots. We are no longer in the stands, but will be on the sidelines cheering on the team at the home games with the cheerleaders! These are some exciting changes as we grow our dance program! NO TRYOUTS - the sign up sheet can be found just outside of Coach Krantz's office! All 8th - 11th graders are invited to be part of the squad. Please contact director, Rochelle Lauve with any questions.
Calling all prospective cheerleaders currently in 5th-7th grades! Cheer tryouts are coming up soon and we would love to have you tryout for the squad! Please contact coach Amy Nobles if you have any questions. There is a sign up sheet posted outside of Coach Krantz's office. We will see you at tryouts!
Parent Meeting: Monday, February 26th 4-5 in G8
Cheer Tryout Clinic: 3/5-3/7 4-5:30
Cheer Tryout: 3/8 4-5:30
Varsity Cheer Tryout details are still to be determined.
The varsity girls basketball team won a tiebreaker game with Brazos Christian on Monday night and have secured 2nd place in district. This means they are headed to the playoffs! Their first Playoff game will be on our home court this Friday, 2/16 at 6 pm against Keystone from San Antonio.
We hope to see as many of our Eagle Fans in the stands as possible. Take time to come support these ladies as they move into the next round!
The Junior High Volleyball department will be offering an all skills clinic to those girls who are interested in playing junior high volleyball (current 5th - 8th graders). We will offer this clinic on Fridays starting February 16th - May 18th in the competition gym from 3:45pm - 4:45pm free of charge. We will not have a sign up sheet but if no girls show up by 3:50, the coaches will close the gym. For information on personal lessons, please contact Pam Clayton to schedule with the coaches.
Show off your Eagle Pride by placing one of these fun signs in your front yard! Signs are available in many varieties for different sports and can be purchased for only $25 each. Just print out an order form and return it to Sabrina Krantz in the Athletic Office as soon as possible.
