“Owe no one anything,
except to love each other,
for the one who loves another
has fulfilled the law."

Romans 13:8:

GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS

Our annual Grandparents & Special Friends Day will take place on Friday, February 16th from 9AM-11AM. Coffee and light refreshments will be served in Building H beginning at 9AM. There will be a performance by preschool through 4th grade from 9:30-10:15. Classroom visits will begin at the conclusion of the performance for all grades. While there will be activities in preschool - 5th grades, the upper school will welcome sneak-a-peek visitors.

All grades, preschool through high school will be released at 11:30AM for the day and there will be no extended care. There is also no school on Monday, February 19th.

1 TIMOTHY 4:12 AWARD

Each semester, a student is nominated by the administration and staff to be presented to the RCS Board as an outstanding student. The person designated for this award is one who exhibits high academic performance, who is recognized as a leader among her peers, and who performs daily with the heart of a servant. We have termed this award as the “1 Timothy 4:12 Award.”

I Timothy 4:12 says: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

At their most recent meeting, the school board honored senior, Taylor Medina with the coveted award for this semester. Congratulations, Taylor! May you continue to be an example amongst your peers as you embark on the future ahead.

MIDDLE SCHOOL LOCK IN

Our 7th and 8th grade students are invited to attend the Middle School Lock In on Friday February, 16th. The lock-in will be from 7PM-10PM in Building H where pizza and other snacks will be served. We will have time for worship, games and prizes! Please RSVP to Mrs. Davila ASAP.

FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE

Hopefully your daughters have brought home their Father Daughter Dance invitation!  After such a extraordinary dance last year, PTO has decided to expand this fundraiser.  We've added a second dance to allow more grades to attend and we have moved it to the gym!
The dances will be held on Saturday, February 17th.  For Kinder through 4th grade, the dance will be held from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.  For 5th grade through 8th grade, the dance will be held from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
Each girl will receive a complementary photo print at the dance this year.  You may also purchase additional prints directly from the photographer.
In order to make this year's dance a success, PTO needs your help!  Below is the link to the sign up on iVolunteer.   We need help with refreshments, decorating, and clean up.  Moms, this is your chance to sneak-a-peek!

5TH & 6TH GRADE ACT!

A new after school program called ACT! is starting on Tuesday, February 27.  Intermediate boys & girls will be introduced to basic acting techniques and will participate in a play, to be performed on the evening of Tuesday, May 22.  ACT! will meet Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45 on the stage in the new gym.  Cost is $50.  Wade Sharayha will direct and Grace Freeman will assist.
Along with teaching acting basics, we are also looking forward to working with the students on “character” development; their character within the play and the character of their Christian hearts.  We will talk about how to apply Scripture in our daily lives, remembering Paul's words to the Colossians, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as if serving the Lord and not men.” Colossians 3:23
Registration will begin today and continue through Friday, February 16.  To sign-up, please email Grace Freeman.

Stephen Weidenheft and Parker Bankston receive Eagle Scout rank.
EAGLE SCOUTS

Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Only four percent of Boy Scouts are granted this rank after a lengthy review process and the requirements necessary to achieve this rank take years to fulfill.

We are proud to congratulate two of our own Rosehill students, Stephen Weidenheft and Parker Bankston for their recent induction into this elite society of young men. Congratulations to both of you on a job well done! You have certainly earned it!
