The THEMES for the weeks are as follows:
June 12-16: Superheroes vs. Aliens: Attack of the Kryptonians!
Last year, much was revealed during Spy Camp about our long-time nemesis, the infamous Madame X (aka Alexa Luthor, Lex Luthor’s granddaughter). With Superman’s help, we were able to stop Alexa’s evil plan just in time....or so we thought! Alexa actually escaped with a key to an outer space jail, and used it to free Lex and his army of evil Kryptonians. Through a secret alien transmission, Superman learned that an attack is scheduled for Earth, and in particular, Camp Eagle, during the second week of June, 2017. Under the chief alien, Commander Zorg, the Kryptonians plan to invade Earth and take over Camp Eagle.
In fact, an alien ship has already landed…somewhere on campus. But do not fear--Superman has sent us instructions for an all new, state-of-the-art superhero training facility. This time, spy skills will not be enough. To defeat the aliens, we will all need to become real superheroes, with superpowers.
Our mission: Find and destroy the alien spacecraft, defeat Commander Zorg, and save the planet.
But there’s more…we will soon learn through a transmission from Commander Zorg that the aliens have already invaded our own troops. That’s right, two aliens are already among us. Who could they be?
And how do we free them, before it’s too late? These secrets and more await you at “Superheroes vs. Aliens: Attack of the Kryptonians!”
Field Trip: We have learned (from a very reliable source) that some of the aliens have been hiding out at: Crocodile Encounter in Angleton.
June 19-23: Holiday Week
Have you ever wished it was Christmas every day? Well, after deconstructing last year’s “Around the World” airplane, we used the remnants to build what we thought was a normal (though very large) calendar. Boy, were we wrong! The same materials that took us around the globe can now take us through the calendar--literally! Pick a day and you are there! And so the Camp Eagle staff decided to pick your favorite holidays. That’s right, every day will bring a brand new, exciting holiday! Will it be Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, or another special day? Journey through our calendar each morning to a mystery holiday, stamp your pocket calendar, and return to “boring old June” when camp concludes each day. You’ll enjoy a “secret snack”, holiday parties, holiday specific activities, gift exchanges, clothing, culture, “dance-offs”, competitions, crafts, music, games, skits, trivia, videos, phrases, and so much more from the holidays you know and love! “When” will tomorrow take us? Find out each day, and jump through the calendar with us …during our own “Holiday Week”!
Field Trip: Our Wednesday destination has been pre-scheduled to the Children’s Museum of Houston for “Cinco de Mayo”.
July 10-14: THRICE Upon a Camp: Escape to Storyland
Welcome back to Storyland! Every good story ends in a trilogy, and our adventures in Storyland are no different. We are pleased to announce that seven all-new “top-secret” storybook locations will be unlocked and added to our Storyland map. Which stories will they be? The past two years, you visited Nemo in the dentist’s office, played in Remi’s Rat Maze, and baked goodies for Grandma’s house, all while searching for the identity of our “Storyland Secret Villain”. Last year, we found out that it was the Giant (who was revenging Jack), who also revealed that a new villain would be sabotaging Storyland this year. Each day, a crime will be committed, and it will be our job to investigate scenes, search for clues, and exonerate suspects live, in front of the new unknown, mysterious SSV3. But who is it? We will be given a list of 25 suspects (some old, some new) and daily clues. If you’ll remember, the Giant also spoke of a twist...and he said it would be BIG (like him)! What is that twist, you may ask? To finish our trilogy, we have found a REAL way in..an “escape” TO Storyland! That's right, this time you will not be playing simply as visitors in Storyland, but as the actual characters in the stories. And, you guessed it, as your villain gets eliminated from the board...so do you! This year, we won’t just be trying to find the mystery villain, but we will also crown the “Greatest Storyland Hero” in this thrilling finale! Remember and experience right in front of your eyes the stories that you love in a fun, non-scary way right here…THRICE Upon a Camp: Escape to Storyland.
Field Trip: Hunt for evidence at Adventure Kingdom in Lumberton
July 17-21: Olympic Games V: Continental Divide
As Olympians these past four seasons, we played as countries, states, and even planets. We experienced victory and, at times, defeat. We learned the meaning of teamwork, and what it truly means to “win”. In 2017, a new era has begun….Teammates, prepare to enter a week-long competition of games, sports, and other competitions in a quest to be crowned “Champions of the World”! Come enter our Olympic Arena once again, but this time, we will be playing across the entire planet as we represent the different continents from every corner of our Earth. You will also create team shirts, think up chants, design “continental banners”, cook foods in a “worldwide bake-off”, and participate in our daily “Trivia Quest” as you learn facts about all the continents. Campers will be placed on teams and will rotate and compete with their teams (and their counselor) for the entire week. Olympians--you are summoned to light the torch once again as six (of the seven) continents compete for a chance to work together and stand on the podium at our daily closing ceremonies and medal celebrations. Let’s find out, once and for all, which continent is truly the best in the world in “Olympic Games V: Continental Divide”! Our camp adventure concludes with the highly anticipated all-night campout on July 21 with a campfire, s’mores, secret games (TBA), and a classic game of Capture the Flag in the dark on the football field (with glow sticks).
Field Trip: Houston Indoor Sports Inter-”Continental” Tournament (part of competition)
