Pine Cove
5th Grade Retreat

Pine Cove Outdoor Education The fifth graders at Rosehill have the opportunity to attend Pine Cove’s Outdoor Education in spring, leaving school on Wednesday morning, and returning around 3:00 on Friday afternoon.

While there, Pine Cove’s trained staff teaches all of the classes and activities so teachers and parents are able to build relationships with the students while we are on site. We stay in cabins, which are heated and air-conditioned. In addition, each cabin has its own private bathrooms and showers. All meals are cooked on site and take place in the fantastic dining facility.

Pine Cove has developed a curriculum that is based on the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) and reinforces what the teachers teach in the classroom. They have geared every trip to our school’s needs.  We choose which activities in which the students participate. The outdoor education classes include:  Aquatics Class, Horseback Riding, Nature's Niche, Forestry Class, Archery, Zip Line, Canoeing/Kayaking, and Wildlife Class.

Some of the recreational activities are: swimming, table top tennis, pickle ball, sand volleyball, basketball, gaga ball, horseshoes, and baseball.

The wind blows where it wishes,
and you hear its sound,
but you do not know where it comes from
or where it goes.
So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
