Admissions Process

STEP 1 (K-12) ONLINE APPLICATION 

  • Completes the online application agreeing to the following:
    • Statement of Faith & Morality Statement
    • Regular attendance at a church with a comparable Statement of Faith
  • Payment of application fee … $100.00

STEP 2 (K-12)  GATHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Once the application for admission is submitted,  the parent will begin gathering the paperwork for the Admissions Committee to review.  This paperwork will consist of the following:
  • Pastor questionnaire
  • Teacher recommendations
    • Elementary:  math teacher & language arts teacher
    • Middle School & High School:  one each from a math AND english / language arts teacher PLUS one from teacher  of your choice (Total of 3)
  • Previous Testing:
    • Any previous standardized testing and psychological testing
    • Any previous PLAN, PSAT, ACT or SAT scores, ISEE scores
  • Report cards for previous two years
  • Grade report showing present student performance
  • Birth certificate
  • Immunization records

STEP 3 (K-6)  TESTING 

  • Testing for K-6 students may occur once the application has been submitted.

STEP 3 (7-12)  TESTING

  • The Director of Admissions will forward the completed student folder with all documentation to the grade level principal.  Upon review of the student folder, the grade level Principal will determine if additional testing is warranted based upon the documentation submitted.  

STEP 4 (K-12)  FAMILY INTERVIEW

  • If the test results and the student files indicate that the student might be a fit for the school, an interview with the family will be scheduled with the grade level Principal.
    • It is appropriate for both parents to attend the interview.  However, at least one parent and the child should be present at the interview.
  • If the test results and the student files indicate that the school would not be a fit for the student, the Principal will notify the parents.

NOTE:  RCS is bound by the license agreements with the Educational Diagnostician and only the Educational Diagnostician may furnish the parent with test results and the interpretation of those results.

STEP 5 (K-12)  ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE REVIEW

  • Upon final submission of all documents, testing, and the family interview, the Admissions Committee will meet to review student file to determine admission to Rosehill Christian School.  This committee meets once each week to determine acceptance or rejection of the student for entrance to Rosehill Christian School.
  • The determination of the Admissions Committee will be formally communicated to the family.

NOTES:  

  1.  Students who have various learning differences or who are presently receiving assistance through Special Education or 504 should provide any previous testing, ARD paperwork, 504 paperwork, and a list of any accommodations from the past.  A Pre-Interview will be conducted before any new admissions testing to determine if RCS is staffed to meet the educational needs for the child requesting admission.
  1.  Any student who has been expelled, assigned to an alternative education placement or who is presently suspended will not be eligible for enrollment at RCS.
  1.  After students are admitted to RCS, those who struggle academically may be referred for further testing at the expense of the parent.
  1.  Priority of processing students for admissions
  • Siblings of current students.
  • Children from the Christian community at large that come from a family where at least one parent is a born-again believer.
  • Children 14 years and older who display a deep relationship with the Lord in an interview with administration, have a strong desire to attend RCS, have parents who do not know the Lord but are supportive of the goals of the school.
  • Kindergarten and first grade students, who come from a family that is searching spiritually, are willing to attend church regularly, and work with a mentor who will check on their progress spiritually.
  1.  Returning Families:  Any returning family will need to meet with the Head of School prior to the application process.
