Welcome to Rosehill Christian School. As the principal, it is my desire that together we cultivate a community in which spiritual growth and academic learning are the focus. We are a covenant school with a mission of excellence to challenge students to reach their highest potential and to make a difference in their community through service to others. Our focus is one of "rigor, relevance and relationships." With a challenging middle school curriculum and a Biblical focus, our students are receiving an education that prepares them for high school and is relevant to influence their culture. We seek to teach our students the importance of "Knowing Christ and Making HIM Known."
Students in 6th through 8th grade take the core subjects of english, math, science, social studies, and Bible. Electives consist of Art, Computer Applications, Performing Arts and Athletics. Beginning in the eighth grade, students may begin receiving college preparatory courses.
Our staff is focused this year on the integration of technology into teaching and learning. With the addition of Apple computers for each teacher, developing our technology infrastructure, and continued staff development, we are working towards the implementation of Apple laptops for high school students as well as 8th grade students taking high school courses. Our students will need to purchase a specified Apple laptop for the 2009-2010 school year. We are also busy developing our online school for initial implementation in the 2009-2010 school year.
Our students are encouraged to become involved in the visual and performing arts. We endeavor to use the outstanding talents of many RCS middle and high school students to showcase them in a yearly musical production.
A diverse athletic program is available for middle school with competition in girls and boys basketball for grades 6 - 8, girls volleyball in grades 6 - 8, 6-man football for boys in grades 7 - 8. Cheerleading is also an integral part of the athletic program for grades 6 - 8.
Our weekly Chapel time encourages student leadership and a time of praise and worship for students.
All of our faculty are committed to providing a quality CHRISTIAN education to the students we serve. Come and check us out.
