Missions

RCS recently made the exciting decision to go on a mission trip with an organization called Living Water International. For 20 years, LWI has been drilling water wells in third world countries and providing safe, clean drinking water to people. The poorest people in the world actually pay some of the world’s highest prices for drinking water, and the water they get is less clean and less plentiful. The poor pay more in the form of lost time, health, education, and life, but also in monetary terms. More than any other factor, water scarcity keeps the “bottom billion” entrapped in a cycle of extreme poverty. In the end all of humanity pays the price. We took a team of 6 students and 2 teacher to Acajutla, El Salvador to help drill a water well in a village whose only water source is contaminated and unsafe to drink. The team left on Sunday, June 12, 2011 and returned home Saturday, June 18, 2011. The entire trip, was spent ministering through the drilling of the well, teaching health and hygiene, and sharing the gospel with the villagers.

The team members were:
 Len Shelby
 Becca Pearce
 Shane Mylius
 Lizzie Pearce
 Kody David
 Ian Ramirez
 Meagan Sayers
 Erica Theriot
