Honors/Dual Credit/AP

 

Rosehill Christian School is pleased to offer dual credit courses in conjunction with Lonestar College. A dual credit course is one in which students receive credit from RCS for a core subject as well as college credit awarded by Lonestar College. Each year we evaluate the types of courses to offer.

To qualify to take these course, Junior and Senior students must have taken and passed the COMPASS test from Lonestar College as well as receive written permission from the RCS Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction.

Usually, during the school year, students who qualify, may take the following courses:

  • English 1301, 1302
  • English 2322, 2323
  • College Biology 1406, 1407
  • Economics 2301 (Macroeconomics)
  • Math 1314 (College Algebra)
  • Math 1316 (College Trigonometry)
  • History 1301, 1302
  • Government 2301
The following courses are offered based upon student demand:
  • Math 1342 (Statistics)
  • Math 1324 (Finite Math)
  • English 1311 (Technical Writing)
  • Economics 2302 (Microeconomics)

Students must maintain an 80 average each semester to continue in the course.

Juniors and Seniors who wish to enroll, must pick up an approval form from the counselor, Mrs. Dyal.
