Lower School News

    from the Principal:

As we begin this new year, we look to the future for each child that is placed in our care.  It is an awesome adventure and responsibility that we do not take lightly.  It humbles me to think that this is not just education, but preparation for life.

“A child is a person who is going to carry on what you have started.  He is going to sit where you are sitting, and when you are gone, attend to those things which you think are important.  You may adopt all the policies you please, but how they are carried out depends on him.  He will assume control of your cities, states, and nations.  He is going to move in and take over your churches, schools, universities, and corporations….the fate of humanity is in his hands.”

Abraham Lincolon

The first day of school was such a blessing; I would like to share a few insights.  If my heart is warmed by these, I know He dances.

  • Beautiful crisp uniforms proudly donned
  • Radiant faces anticipating…
  • Knowledge applied effectively in thinking and reasoning
  • The sound of praise fashioned in song filling the halls with sweet worship
  • The first steps taken on the journey of  the reading process
  • Love exuding from teachers and staff
  • Excitement ….expressed in our hot Texas air!

God’s richest blessings on you and…

A Word from Mrs. Dauterive

The Kindergarteners are off to a GREAT start! They are busy learning the daily procedures and routines. In Math this week, they are focusing on the basics: colors, shapes, and numbers. In Phonics, they are learning the vowels and the sounds they make. We are looking forward to a very successful school year!

A Word from Mrs. Newell

Sweet, Mrs. Miller’s daughter, was our guest speaker who shared about her experiences at a refugee camp in Burma.  She was a refugee for nine years of her life but was able to come to America and live with the Miller’s.  Even though there were difficult times in her life where she had no food or was uncertain about her circumstances, she trusted in the Lord to care for her.

Now Sweet is enrolled at the community college here in Tomball where she will be learning and finding out what God has in store for her life. One important lesson we can all learn from Sweet is that we are blessed because we have know Jesus.

Let’s try not to grumble or complain and shout “It’s not fair,” but focus on how we can serve the Lord in whatever circumstance we may be in.
