FOOTBALL

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Rosehill traveled to Rockwall to take on #1 ranked Heritage Christian in Private school six-man for both teams' season openers.  Rockwall proved from the get-go why they are number one.  It was a long night for the big boys from  Tomball as Rockwall defeated Rosehill 71-24.  The Eagles were led offensively by Hunter Harris and Shane Mylius connecting twice for touchdowns and 138 receiving yards.  Madison Johnson had a great night returning a second half kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown.

Rosehill left the aftermath of Hurricane Ike behind in Tomball and traveled to Kerrville to play their third game of the season. The Eagles found out early they may have left Ike, but Hurricane Heritage from Fredricksburgh was waiting for the Eagles in full force. The Eagles were blown away 50-0. The only consolation was it was a beautiful  fall night in the hill country for football. The Eagles take on Austin Hill Country this Friday at 5:00. It is Homecoming weekend and we need all former Eagles to come and cheer us on to victory.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL

The Rosehill Christian Junior High Football team played their first game on Thursday against First Baptist Pasadena. It was a hard fought battle but the Eagles came 10 points short as time expired. The young men had prepared for weeks to start the season and every one of them played their hearts out. It is a tough way to start the season but we are excited the season has begun and can’t wait for our next game.

After a long break from football due to Hurricane Ike, the Rosehill Christian Junior High Football team took the field this week as they competed against the Brenham Christian Academy Eagles. The RCS Eagles battled their way to a 31-7 victory. That was the first win for the Junior Football Team this season putting their record at 1-1. It was a great week for the Eagles! Next week we will travel to compete against St. Anthony’s with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 PM.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL

Last week was an exciting week for our Junior High Lady Eagles volleyball team.  Thursday, they defeated Holy Trinity at home with a third game score of 15-9. The next morning, they traveled to Alvin for a 24 team tournament at Living Stones Christian School.  Winning 9 games out of 10 on Friday, they finished 1st in their pool play and advanced to the gold bracket.

On Saturday, they beat Faith Pasadena in match one of bracket play which placed them in the top four teams of the 24 team tournament.
They lost their next two matches, narrowly losing 3rd place in a tight third game against Trinity Galveston. Although the girls were disappointed not to bring a trophy home, they garnered the support and admiration of several of the other teams and fans who commented about their teamwork, athleticism and being "fun to watch." Halie Hardman was awarded "All Tournament" for Rosehill and every girl on the team gave 100% effort and heart. We were so proud of them!

SPIRIT MINI CLINIC

Half-Time Performance

Thirty-three Kindergarten through 5th graders participated in this year’s Spirit Mini Clinic after school on Thursday Sept 4th. They enjoyed pizza and bonding with the Junior High and Varsity Cheerleaders, then got right to work learning some RCS Cheers, a dance, and stunts.  At the Varsity football game, they wowed the crowd with an amazing half-time performance and joined the Varsity cheerleaders in cheering the Eagles to a huge victory!
