In accordance with Rosehill Christian School’s mission statement and goals:
- RCS serves students of average to above average intelligence
- RCS strives for the highest level of God-given potential within each student’s ability
- RCS will develop intellectual competence by:
- Attaining standards of achievement reasonable for each student’s ability
- Developing self-discipline in doing assigned work
- Teaching students to discern his course work from a Christian perspective
Admissions to RCS include students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin.
In an effort to maintain the goals of the school as stated, standardized entrance requirements have been set.
ADMISSIONS STANDARDS
- Preschool enrollment is for children 3 and 4 years of age before September 1st.
- Preschoolers must be toilet trained to be accepted. Admission testing is not required.
- Children enrolling in Kindergarten must by 5 years old before September 1st.
- Admission testing is required for all Kindergarten students, both continuing RCS students and new RCS students.
- No student currently suspended, expelled, or on probation (academic or conduct) will be admitted.
Consideration of applications is as follows:
- Continuing students
- Siblings of continuing students
- Children of teachers and staff
- New applicants
Class Size & Waiting List
- Rosehill Christian School limits the total number of students in Preschool and Kindergarten to 16 per class. Additional applicants are placed on a waiting list.
- Grades 1 though 12 are limited to 20 students per class
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Admission is also based upon the following requirements:
- Intellectual qualifications measured by WPPSI-R or WISC-III testing performed and evaluated at RCS or an RCS approved testing agent.
- All applicants must receive a score of average or above average to qualify for admission.
- Moral and personal qualifications measured by a parent/student interview conducted by RCS staff, which will include a review of past records.
- Parents must provide RCS with previous school records including the past two year’s report cards and any standardized tests given within the past two years.
- Parents must provide up to date health records, immunization records, and birth certificate.
- All new students will enter RCS on a semester probationary basis.
